Why Does E=MC2?

This week, I've been gathering more knowledge and experiences to inform the writing of my novel. My curious mind has always contemplated the workings of the universe but, for this particular project, I need to understand the science. They say that when you're on the right path, synchronicity happens, and it's perhaps no surprise then that on Tuesday night, I found myself at a lecture with Professor Brian Cox and Professor Jeff Forshaw at the launch of their book Why Does E=MC2?

Here I am sitting between the two genius minds.

On the left is Professor Jeff Forshaw and on the right Professor Brian Cox.

What a brilliant and inspiring lecture at the Museum of Science and Industry in the heart of Manchester, UK! And what a brilliant book! I can highly recommend it for making science accessible to all, but what touches me profoundly is the professors' passion for science, for physics, and for the beauty of our universe. You can buy the book here.

Here's another photo montage from the event ...

Also, here's a link to a trailer for `What Time is It?' - one of several BBC Horizon programmes that Brian Cox has made.

Brian and Jeff very kindly inscribed my copy of the book and wished me luck on the writing of my novel and I returned, head full of ideas and with a note-to-self to credit the professors in my novel's acknowledgements.

And so, on with the silent counting ... and the writing has begun in earnest. The story is weaving through my mind constantly and I am travelling with it now - moving without moving - and the characters are growing into reality.

In a short time to come, I may be able to share some teasers with you!

For now, here's a recent photo of me, where the air hangs veil-like, seemingly passing through into possible other dimensions.

Until next time, go see the stars and contemplate a while on the mysteries of life. Open your mind to creativity. As Einstein once said: Imagination is everything.

Wishing you much love and many magical moments. x

Hi Carol Anne, now I'm really wondering what you're writing about! I love learning about science, string theory, time/space travel, etc. I want to learn as much as I can about how the universe works.

I'm so glad your writing is on a roll. I love when that happens, th world unfolding one word at a time. Cheryl :-) x

Hi Cheryl ... I had a feeling that you'd also love exploring the mysteries of science, space-time, and the universe. If you get chance to read `Why Does E=MC2?', I'm sure you'll find it fascinating! Much love and light, my friend. x

Hi Carol Anne! It's very odd doing the course without you around - having two co-conspirators on the non-fiction option is lovely but also quieter! Glad the novel research is going so well. I am following Richard's sessions week by week so that I don't miss out, and he sounds absolutely great. Encouraging, responsive, creative - brilliant. Good luck with it & hope to mix with you all again soon!

Hi Kelly ... It's good to hear from you. It seems strange that we're in the same cyber learning space but in different parts of it. Makes me think of all these different dimensions. :-) I'm glad the non-fiction option is working well for you. You certainly have a more manageable number in your group. At last count, there's now 10 of us on the `novel' route, which is just about ok. Richard is fantastic and I'm glad you're following the sessions. Hope your project is developing nicely. Catch up with you again soon. xx

Hi Carol Anne, I can't help wondering what teasers you're going to share with us... the mind boggles. Well, we have our base, a 2 bed flat in Port Pendennis, in the shadow of the Maritime Museum, and move in August 7. I'm also trying to sort out some of the fiction reading list, which has something like 23 authors on it!

Life is getting crazier by the day...
