Out of the slate of fiction material that I have in development, I have decided upon the novel that I am going to write as my debut. I am so excited but also weighted with responsibility, hoping that I can deliver a work of fiction that you will love. I can't reveal too much at the moment as I'm still working through the finer details, but I can say that it is a contemporary novel with a fantasy edge, entwined with a love story. More to follow ... but first ...

Most of the images or video clips that I have so far posted of me communing with nature, say something about the novel I'm writing! Now you'll have to wait a little while for the journey's unfolding.

And, yes, so it begins ... my own writerly life currently playing out in real and fictional worlds. With it comes long periods of absence as part of me disappears into other dimensions. It is a dangerous time. Real world responsibilities grip at my ankles, like roots binding me to the earth, when all I want to do is fly. Sometimes I think what it would be to have a wealthy benefactor! Just to remove worldly worries would totally free my mind to write all these magical stories running riot in my head.
Meanwhile, my spirit has taken me back to South Wales and, if I close my eyes, I am back on the Manobier shore, listening to the sea's healing song.
Here's a short clip at sunset ... Oooh , just listen! Can you hear the rush of life?

Until next time, wishing you everything that you wish for. Be the dreamer and the dream! Much love and magical moments. x

Good Morning Carol Anne (well, here anyways),
Ah, yes... more magical photos, and I CAN hear the rush of life in your beautiful video!
About your first novel... I say work your heart out, release it when you're ready (maybe even through on-demand publishing or other modern technological method), and get it out of the way to break the ice. Then on to the next and so on, honing your skill as you progress...
Write, write, write, write, write!
Of course, everyone has their flea bitten opinion, and I am no exception!
About having a wealthy benefactor... I'm a very, very rich man...
Rich in experience and blessings! Sorry, not financially, though. But having the worldly troubles and responsibilities and tribulations is what gives soul to work (more flea biting there).
But you can't rely on my advice... If I had a wealthy benefactor, I think I'd be as lazy as a person could be.
Write, write, write, write, write!
You're charming and magical, as usual,
David
Hi Carol Anne, how exciting! I think the only responsibility you have right now is to yourself. Write for yourself and your work will naturally find its audience. It seems to work that way with my paintings. You have a unique and lovely and of course magical point of view that needs to be shared.
And don't worry about your every day worries getting in the way. Even if find you only have time to write for a few hours a day, it'll add up.
Write for yourself! Cheryl xx
A Good Day to you, dear David. Thank you so much for your encouraging and enlightening thoughts. Lots of good advice here. Yes, I must write, write, write to free this first novel, and then on with the next. As for the wealthy benefactor, well I would choose richness of experience and every day blessings every time. And, I am already wealthy to have all this in my life as well as such wonderful creative souls like yourself. Your generosity of spirit, of creativity, of heart, is deeply appreciated, David. Yes, it is true, we are already rich beyond dreams! Keep being you! x
Cheryl, my lovely, such beautiful thoughts from you too. I am so grateful! And it is a heart-warming feeling knowing that I'm sharing the journey with like-minded creative souls. Thank you for your encouragement and belief. It means the world to me. x
Ah Carol Anne, and so it begins for both of us. For you, it's the novel, for me it's the journey to Falmouth... somewhere to live whilst working on my own bestseller.
If you're anything like me you'll probably prefer to keep your story close until it's done, but if you ever do want an outside opinion, please bear me in mind. Only rarely do I really WANT to read an unknown story, but now I do. Somehow I just know it's going to be a magical experience.
Keep the faith...
Chris
'The Song of the Sea"! I feel sure that your patience and the careful listening to the sea will create a story that is as magical, deep and profound as the ocean. No pressure.;-) It is just that you bring so much magic to your photos that I know you will bring that to your novel. I just read a study that said four hours alone in nature doing nothing will heal more than many other therapies. I so look forward to your novel, your journey and your continued conversation with nature.
I do think that the grist of our life and the ordinary concerns and worries are as important to our writing as are the more magical elements. I have come to think of every worry, challenge and bad moment as a wonderful gift for the writing. Really, if all was well and if I had a wealthy benefactor I would be at the mall and the spa and I would NEVER write.
Chris ... Good luck finding your writer's den in Cornwall. I just know that you're going to have an amazing adventure! And thank you so much for your wonderful encouragement and belief. It makes the world of difference. x
La Belette ... you're such an inspiration and a beautiful being. Thank you for your thoughts, belief, and good wishes. You're so right ... every experience is a wonderful gift for the writing. x

Dear Merle ... What a joy it is to see you here. I'm so glad you've called in to say hello and thank you for your lovely comments. The sea air is wonderful, no matter what time of year. Hope you have chance to revisit Wales. I'm sure we'll return there before too long. Sending you many magical wishes. x
Hello, Carol. I wish you every success in writing every day! That's the best advice I've had in keeping the threads moving through scene after scene. Follow your heart! Follow the story! Your readers will follow you. And I loved the ocean sounds, the clear sky and clen skyline, the rushing of the tide.
Thank you, Beth, for the good advice and encouragement. Wishing you lots of magical moments. x
