I mentioned in a previous post that I've been dabbling with image creation as art therapy and this has given my neurons the space and play-time needed. Here's one I created for Mr Fenwick's 50th ...

It is an image of Mr Fenwick and I, but I wanted to create a Goldfrapp-esque feel as a tribute to Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory ... my musical inspirations!
I love art in all its fantastic and diverse forms. It is an expression of human potential - of truth, beauty, possibility, and imagination. I find the viewing and practice of art incredibly healing. And I have some wonderfully talented artist friends around the world - both here in cyberspace and offline - and I am so blessed with their presence.
Another healing experience came to me last week by watching Cerys Matthews: My Life in Verse, a documentary part of the BBC's poetry season. Cerys is such a captivating lady, and her documentary on the influence of Celtic poetry was totally enthralling. After watching the programme, I picked up my Dylan Thomas Omnibus and my love for words ignited me again. What total rapture!
So ... the ticking continues ...
And I have news! I've passed my first writing MA course units and I can now proceed to the next stage. I have had the most encouraging feedback on my writing portfolios so I am absolutely delighted. Six months of hard work and sleepless nights have paid off. Now to the 18 months ahead and moving closer to my MA Project.
In the next few posts, I'll tell you about another little writing research trip which I made this week to the luminous Lake District where I immersed myself in summer's colourful and fragrant offerings. Until then, I wish you much merriment as we race towards the summer solstice. Much love and light to you all, my friends. x

Congratulations! I knew you would. And music is a great inspiration for my work as well. You've really captured Goldfrapp's dreamlike feel. I hope you do more! Looking forward to hearing about the Lake District. I've always wanted to go there i esp. after watching Pride and Prejudice.
Oh, yes, Carol Anne!! Beautiful work of art photo of you and Mr. Fenwick...
And how did I know you'd be a fan of Goldfrapp... I was introduced to the group by a friend two years ago... I have been into Portishead and Massive Attack for quite a bit longer, but Goldfrapp is just amazing. Before the introduction, I always thought Madonna was the ever changing face of sexuality... but she's not even close to Allison.
Oh, yes... CONGRATULATIONS on passing the first stage in your journey... those sleepless nights and hard work have certainly paid off!!
Wonderful love and light back to you...
David

Can I add my congratulations, not only on passing the first unit for the MA, but also on the 'Goldfrapp-esque' portrait you produced for Mark's birthday. Doubt if I'll get anything quite so inspirational for Father's Day, maybe the Meatloaf CD they're advertising on TV. That'll do for me, my original version is worn out.
Take care,
Chris.
Congratulations on passing your MA course unit!
Wonderful news and very nice to her of how encouraging has been on your writing.
I LOVE the image of Mr. Fenwick! Is very surreal and magic! You have a lot of talent! Keep up with your lovely work!!
Congratulations!!!!What a very exciting time you are in. It seems as if you are glowing with creative potential. It will be wonderful to witness your journey. Thanks for sharing it with us!
xo
Lovely Cheryl ... Thank you so much for having faith in me and for your feedback on the Goldfrapp inspired image. I do hope to create more pieces as I love experimenting. Oh yes, you'd love the Lake District! Such an inspiration. Have you watched a film called Pandemonium about the Lakeland poets? If you ever get chance, do watch it. I'm sure you'd love it! x
Dear David ... So glad you love Goldfrapp too. Like attracts like! They are such an inspiration and Alison is just amazing. Of course, she has a background in the arts and that creativity certainly reveals itself through her music and entire persona. We went to see them play in Glasgow last summer. Truly amazing! Thank you for the congratulations and feedback on my art experimentation. Thank you especially for the love and light. Sending the same tenfold! x
Dear Chris ... Thank you, kind Sir, for your encouraging comments. I hope you have a lovely Father's Day and a new Meatloaf CD sounds like it'll hit the spot. Have a great weekend and keep writing! x
Lovely Lena ... So happy to hear from you and thank you for your kind message. I'm so glad you love the image. I am touched. I hope you and family are wonderfully well, my dear friend. Hope to hear from you again soon! x
Lovely Belette ... Thank you so much! The creativity is definitely rising and taking me on a journey. It's wonderful to share it in this way with such wonderful people like yourself. x
Congratulations on passing your MA units!!!! What a wonderful achievement.....whohooo!!!! I also enjoy art and find it therapeutic, in fact at the moment it's really one of the things getting me through. I like doing real art in journals and digital stuff in photoshop. All the best of luck in completing the next stage of your studies....and have a lovely weekend:)
Lovely Sarah ... You're so kind. Thank you for your encouraging message. I see from your blog that you love art. You must follow your creativity and see where it takes you. Wishing you everything that you wish for. x
Hi Carol! I really liked your photo too. It is quite eerie - when I look at it, I feel like it's moving, fading in and out. It's like the photographic answer to the magical realist style you've been exploring! x
First of all, congratulations on passing the first stage of your course. You must feel good and inspired to go further even if it means more hardworking sleepless nights.
Wonderful to read about your art-therapy. I often do not experience it as therapy but more like grinding frustration. But i'm learning ;)
And i love to read about your Lake District trip. Are you adding some photos so i can dream away? ;))
XX Marion
Lovely Kelly - Oooh yes, now I look at the image again, it does seem to have an eerie movement to it. Everything seems to be pointing towards the magical realism but we'll see what develops in this next stage. Hope you're rested and ready for the next stage on the course. x
Lovely Marion ... Thank you, my dear. I think I'm ready now for the next stage of my journey. Oh yes, I think the practise of art (like writing) can also be very frustrating. I love the work that you're doing. It speaks to me. Yes ... photos of the Lakeland visit to come! x
Hello Again, Carol Anne! FYI... I dreamt of this photo last night... can't really remember what it was about, if anything, but you were wandering this landscape in Goldfrappish creativity, delight, and beauty... Looking at it again, I feel more of a depth and energy emanating from it.
I love these photos of you in nature!
Sending much Love and light...
David
Wow David! That's amazing, and I am humbled and awe-struck that this image has floated into your dreamtime. I'm always, always, astounded by the energy within creativity and its connectivity potential. Thank you so much for sharing this. It has inspired thoughts for my writing! Much love & light, my friend. xx
