Weaving Stories and Gathering Thoughts

I've been in story realm for most of the past week, writing into the night, chasing my MA assignment deadline. I am almost there now. Then it's straight into writing another story to meet the next deadline. I am exhausted but happily so. Weaving stories is immensely fulfilling.

Take a glimpse into one of my note books, guarded here by my treasured crystal. Anyone like to guess the name of this crystal?

Today, while the winds continue to steal the spring blossom, I've been gathering thoughts. Would you like me to share some of these with you? ... Yes? Well, here goes ...

1. I've been thinking that, by year end, my novel - the first of many - will be in the making with my aim to complete my debut in 2010, which is a nice, auspicious number.

2. My thoughts have been drifting into nature's magic and the essence of summer. I've been dreaming of mountains and moors, of woodlands and wild places, of sunshine and shores.

3. I've been worrying about the bees and realizing how their well-being is directly entwined with ours. In fact, I tweeted about this and was contacted by Damian Grounds to let me know about his project Help Save Bees. Please do take a look and share news of his good work!

4. Harps! I'm obsessed with harps! At the end of my MA course, I will find time to explore my musical side.

5. I'm thinking that herbal medicine is extraordinarily effective.

6. I'm dreaming of the moon and the stars, the stories of tomorrow, and the lure of creativity.

7. And, my mind is on loved ones and all the wonderful people in my life.

And, I could go on but I'll end on number 7. It's a good number. I like it. Even my first school was called Seven Stars! Oh, but I'm rambling now ...

Wishing you all lots of wonderful moments in your days. xx

I'd rather take herbal medicine over prescribed drugs any day. I have a friend who, after twisting his leg in a kung fu accident, was advised to get knee surgery, which would have been expensive, painful and with a long recovery time. Instead he went to an herbalist and a few days later his knee was completely healed.

Thank you, miss Carol Anne Strange, for letting us into the mind of a beautiful writer...
1) 2010 sound good, but smacks of the decimal system. ;)
2) MINE TOO! Drifting into nature's magic. I think we both live in similar climates, and around here (in Western Upstate New York) the leaves have just come out in earnest and they are swaying hypnotically in the breeze... all of my senses are being stimulated to the limit.
3) You know, I noticed the absence last year... but this year the bee population has recovered in our region. A great thing... it was sincerely beginning to worry me (and I don't worry easily)
4) Ah, the dreamy beauty of harp music... what a vibratingly delightful experience it must be to play one...
5) I am all into natural remedy and have been bothered a bit by the Pharmaceutical industry taking over our therapeutic lives.
6) I'm right there with you, Carol Anne!
7) A fine place for your mind to be, indeed...

Thanks also for a glimpse into your journal and stream of consciousness...
It's unfortunate we live so far apart as I think you'd be a delightful person to visit with for a spot.

You spark my creative imagination!

Hi Cheryl - Wow! Oh yes, I quite agree. It sounds like your friend was very lucky and made a good choice. I've used herbal medicine on and off for years and never cease to be amazed. Although it's natural, it is incredibly potent. I always consult an experienced medical herbalist though so I know I'm in good hands. :)

As always, wishing you lots of magical moments, Cheryl. x

Dear David - Bright blessings to you, my friend, and thank you for your uplifting reply.

It's good to hear that the bee population has recovered in your area. We've had two very wet summers in a row here, which can't have helped matters. We hope the weather will be kinder this year.

David, it's my pleasure to share the creative journey and it is wonderful to know that I'm sparking your imagination. It sounds like we are in tune, which is magical. Well, if I gain the opportunity to visit Western Upstate New York, I'd love the opportunity to meet up. Likewise, if you're ever in the UK, do let me know! As I'm discovering, the internet is incredible for connecting like-minded people. I am meeting so many wonderfully talented, creative people like you, which is so enriching.

Keep on creating, David. Be the dreamer and the dream. x

ooh nice crystal, is it a piece of labradorite? x

Carol Anne Strange said...

GuGaw ... Yes! You're right. It's the loveliest piece of labradorite I've seen. The picture does not do it justice as it's quite magical. It's also known as the magician's stone!

Oooh ... just had a look at your blog and your jewellery is stunning!

woo! i love labradorite - magicians stone eh? do you know what the story is behind that?

i saw a beautiful piece of labradorite on ebay once...it was massive! literally as big as a mans lower arm in length and thickness and had been cut into a crystal point. the flashes were amazing and it was only £60....seemed a little too good to be true so i didn't get it....still regret it a little..

I'm not sure about the story behind the magician's stone or how far back it goes. I've heard that it represents the `temple of the stars' and that it's a flash of light in the darkness that can reveal your spiritual destiny and develop psychic abilities. I find it helps with creativity and focus.

Wow! The ebay story is an interesting one, and what a price! Mind you, I think it's best to go see a crystal and let it choose you ... but more about that some other time. :-)

How wonderful dear Carol Anne!
I can feel it already that your book is going to be something lovely and intriguingly magic!
I can't wait to read it!
The herbal medicine is really effective. I can attest to it. I got better from Anemia by taking only vitamins and herbs...the Dr wanted to do something drastic as you read it on my blog and I would probably not be an better.
Sending you love and light and keep doing your wonderful writing!
:)
Lena

Thank you, dear Lena. As ever, your thoughts inspire and uplift. I feel light on my wings. :) I'm so glad that nature's magic made you better. I'm still bewildered about what your Dr suggested and I'm relieved that you didn't have to take such drastic action. Take care and be well, my friend. Much love and sparkling light. x

Knowing how busy you must be, I hesitated before responding to this post. But hey, I have to say 'thank you', I learn something new every time I visit your blog. Labradorite eh? I'd never have got that. Hope the course continues to go well.
Chris.
